Payroll Processing
Running payroll in California is… a lot. We handle the details so you don’t have to—from first check to final check—while keeping you current with state and federal requirements.
What we do
-
Full-cycle payroll processing (gross-to-net, taxes, and year-end forms)
-
New-hire setup and reporting to the state
-
Accurate, itemized pay stubs and pay schedules
-
Final-paycheck timing and offboarding support
-
Employer tax filings and e-payments (EDD)
California compliance we include:

-
Itemized pay stubs that show required details (gross/net, hours, pay rates, period dates, employer info, etc.). California Labor Code §226
-
Paid Sick Leave – Minimum accrual of 40 hours or 5 days annually under the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act.. California Labor Code §§245–249
-
Meal & Rest Periods – Non-exempt employees are entitled to a 30-minute meal break by the 5th hour, a second by the 10th, plus a paid 10-minute rest break for every 4 hours worked. California Labor Code §§226.7, 512; IWC Wage Orders
-
Final Wages – Immediate payout if terminated; within 72 hours if employee resigns without notice; same day if 72-hour notice is given. California Labor Code §§201–203
-
New-Hire Reporting – Employers must report all new hires and rehires to the Employment Development Department (EDD) within 20 days. California Unemployment Insurance Code §1088.5
We bake these requirements into your payroll workflows so you’re compliant by default—and we update settings when laws change.

Make it yours

Already have payroll but need California compliance dialed in? We can review your setup and add specific modules (sick leave, meal/rest premiums, final-pay checklists) or bundle payroll into a broader HR package. And yes—you can always add à la carte services like job descriptions, handbooks, audits, and training to customize your support.
